XTM International just released a new version of XTM Portal, a user customizable, web-based platform which acts as a front end for XTM Cloud. It enables users to request and monitor translations in a simple environment by providing a user-friendly process for submitting translation requests within the Portal, getting costs, utilizing XTM templates and workflows, and downloading target files created in XTM Cloud. It is the perfect tool for translation requesters who are not localization experts.

Our clients use XTM Portal to give their subcontractors access to localization requests, without giving them access to XTM Cloud. This ensures they have limited access, and can create projects for a specific customer (or internal department) only, ensuring that information is secure. For instance, the developers team will not be able to access or create translations for the HR department.”

Sara Basile, Product Manager at XTM International

Here’s what’s new in 22.1.

Localization projects delivered at the right time

With project stakeholders working in a relay across time zones, translation requesters need to be able to trust that their files will be delivered on time, at the right time, without having to worry about time differences. The 22.1 version introduces the option for users to configure time zones settings, ensuring that global teams can work efficiently by being perfectly synchronized.

XTM Portal ensures that project dates and times are handled and displayed correctly depending on where you are in the world. This provides clarity and consistency of information on the UI and in the email notifications received by linguists and project managers to keep track of localization projects.

Customizable Single Sign On

We’re delighted with the positive user response to single sign-on (SSO), the authentication method that enables users to securely log on to multiple applications and websites with just one set of credentials. For instance, a user could login to XTM Portal using the same credentials as the would to login to any other company website (e.g., HR or finance) using SAML and OAUTH2. We are now enabling XTM Portal administrators to customize the order of the login buttons (so SSO could appear first, for instance), as well as what appears on the login buttons. The ability to customize the SSO login message and button ensures a seamless and straightforward experience for localization requesters.

Easier download of up-to-date files

XTM Portal users can now download source files – in addition to target files – created or updated in XTM Cloud. For instance, an XTM Portal user adds 2 files for localization. The PM then decides to add an additional file, and to update one of the existing source files using XTM Cloud. The XTM Portal user can now download all 3 source files, to check what has been added and what has been amended. To keep things secure and synchronized, all of the files are stored on the XTM Cloud server, even those available for download through the Portal. This means a portal user can keep up to date on changes to dynamic projects.

XTM Portal enables users to submit requests, without requiring an XTM Cloud license. It is also a lot easier to use, without requiring any configuration or localization skills or knowledge from the user. It can be easily customized, as custom fields can be added or hidden depending on your requirements, giving you the control you need, and making it easy for teams to manage and request translations.”
