XTM v12.0: delivering higher translation productivity

London, July 22, 2019 — XTM International is proud to announce the release of XTM v12.0, the online translation management system, which continues to set the standard for combining user-friendliness with advanced functionality. The new release rolls out major productivity-boosting enhancements with the new XTM Workbench, improved project management, and new connectors.

XTM Workbench at the heart of XTM V12.0

Higher translation productivity with XTM Workbench
Redeveloped from the ground up and based on state-of-the-art design and technology, the brand new XTM Workbench offers an ultra-productive, intuitive and user-friendly translation environment. Close collaboration with trained linguists combined with the latest browser technology has resulted in the most productive translator workbench on the market.

Optimized and user-friendly
One of the goals of the redevelopment was to ensure an improved user experience. This has been achieved by moving crucial segment information, such as matches, concordance, inline tags, history, and comments to the docked panel at the bottom of the page for greater visibility and ease of use. The available screen real estate has been optimized by moving toolbars at both sides of XTM Editor to the top menu and to the context-sensitive menu.

Dynamic scrolling
The pagination in XTM Editor has been replaced by the much smoother and more efficient autoloading of segments. Linguists can scroll through a document of any size and load additional text by simply activating one of the displayed segments.

Fast and more efficient translation
XTM v12 users will benefit from an improved, configurable mechanism for handling repetitions. Regardless of the settings, the repeated instance will be propagated across the entire document without manually going to each repetition.

The Find and Replace option has been enhanced to perform a batch process on all files within a project.

In addition, a new status bar in the footer makes it easier for linguists to track the progress of their work in percentages, words, characters, and segments.

New draft status for unconfirmed translation
A new draft status has been introduced to mark unconfirmed segments. This allows linguists to run a filter to find segments easily, that require additional information.

Improved Quality Assurance
Version 12.0 also comes with a more powerful Quality Assurance (QA) allowing users to run QA checks on the currently displayed segments, on the active segments or on all segments. Once additional segments have been loaded, the quality check restarts automatically.

Additional features in XTM V12.0

More efficient project management
Project managers can now be forced to choose a project template when creating a project. In addition, the process of generating aggregated POs has become more efficient due to the prior automatic validation of user rate cards.

Enhanced machine translation
A connector to SDL Be Global, machine translation has been added. Fast and accurate, SDL Be Global provides a reliable translation of content without impeding workflows. This cutting-edge MT with over 100 language combinations on offer, now integrates into XTM ensuring high quality output.

Greater connectivity
As part of our ongoing program of adding additional CMS connectors, XTM Connect connectors are now available for integrating Salesforce Commerce Cloud / Demandware and Eloqua with XTM. We have also enhanced XTM Connect for Sitecore which now supports Sitecore 9.1. An option of sending multiple jobs to XTM simultaneously has been added and project due dates are now available in the Sitecore interface. In addition, it is now possible to use XTM Visual Editor for content that has not yet been published.

Even more improvements
In addition to all the above enhancements, there are improvements in XTM Portal, the alignment module and XTM Connect REST API.
